Aircraft
Skydive St. Andrews aims to provide the finest skydiving facilities of its kind in the UK. It is our absolute intention of utilising turbine aircraft as the mainstay of our aircraft operations. We are looking to move to a turbine aircraft as soon as practicable

Club House
The purpose built clubhouse features a bar and canteen with a relaxing lounge area. The courtyard surrounding the clubhouse and main buildings is landscaped with outdoor tables and benches. Modern toilet and washroom facilities are of course also available.

Main Building
The main building at the club comprises:
  • Indoor packing hall.

  • Equipment store.

  • Training/lecture room.

  • Offices.

  • Manifest area.

  • Video & team rooms.

Accommodation

Bunk rooms are provided and camping is permitted on the airfield. Local B&B accomodation is also available near by.

Aircraft
The Centre's main aircrafts at present are a Cessna 185 and a Cessna 206. The Cessna 185 take 5 jumpers. Both are used up to 12000 feet.

The Cessna 185 aircraft is effectively the ‘tail dragger’ equivalent of a Cessna 206, and should not be confused with the entirely different Cessna 182. It has the same engine as a 206 and has a full Cessna spec in flight door that retracts into the starboard underwing. Thus you can ride to altitude in absolute comfort and quiet. Because of its configuration, and proper in flight door, it climbs faster than a 206 at a quoted rate of 1085’ per min at sea level.

The door is next to where the co pilot would sit, unlike the C206 which has a more rearward ‘cargo’ door. The wheels are set forward of the strut much like a Pilatus Porter making the area below the door completely clear. i.e. there is no step to impede you on exit so seated launches are easy. There is also has a foot rail running along and under the fuselage so launching 4 & 5-ways is simple.

The Cessna 206 is a common workhorse for the skydiving community and supplements the C185. It has a roller door and climbs very well.
